Things went pretty well on the first day of travel to the beach, so you know our luck wasn't going to hold out. When the boys woke up in the morning, Ryan's eyes were both crusted over with gunk (yes, a technical term) and one of Wesley's eyes was looking decidedly pink. CRAP!
Luckily, there was a Minute Clinic very close to the hotel. We ate a quick breakfast and headed right over there, determined to be the first patients of the day. When the nurse saw us, she was not 100% convinced they had pink eye, but since we were several states away from home, on our way to the beach, AND one of their grandparents recently had pink eye, she took pity on us and described drops. That is, if you want to call giving two kids eye drops three times a day for their entire vacation "taking pity on us."
We arrived at our condo late in the afternoon. The very first thing Ryan and I had to do was check out the balcony. Our condo was on the seventh floor, so we were expecting quite a view. I'm happy to say we were not disappointed.

After settling in a little, we headed down to the beach. The boys were banned from swimming until they had been on their eye drops for 24 hours, but that didn't mean we couldn't get dip our toes in the ocean!

The rest of night consisted of grocery shopping, followed by a glass of wine on the balcony with my mom while star gazing and listening to the waves crash on the shore. We were so glad to have arrived!
