Career Choices

Yesterday Wesley told me that when he grows up, he wants to work at (insert name of company Duane works for here) just like Daddy.

"Wesley, that's fine if that's what you really want to do. Daddy is very good at his job, but he doesn't like it. I hope you have a job that makes you happy."

While Wesley pondered this Ryan asked, "Can boys become librarians? 'Cause that's a happy job!"

Why yes, yes it is.

But that's OK. Later on in the day, Wesley informed me that instead, he really hopes our whole family can start a bakery some day. Decisions decisions.

Closing Out the Year at COSI

The boys and I took a trip to COSI today. Actually, calling it a trip may be a bit optimistic. It was more of a jaunt. I think we were there for a total of two hours - including the walk to and from the parking lot. Thank goodness for membership. Including parking and popcorn for us to share on the way home, I think I spent $6 on the day.

Not Me Monday

Welcome to Not Me! Monday! This blog carnival was created by MckMama.

I did not have a complete freak out a few days before Christmas and send my hubby to two different stores at 9:30 at night, looking for something I thought I bought, but didn't.

I have not stepped on more LEGOs (in my bare feet) in the past four days than I have ever stepped on in my life.

Speaking of stepping on things, I did not step on Cleo on Christmas morning and practically fall down the stairs, nearly causing great bodily harm.

There is no way I heard the song that I have programed for Duane's ringtone on the radio one day and reached to answer my phone. And even if I did do that, it didn't happen when Duane sitting right next to me and obviously NOT calling my cell phone

Duane's Inaugural Wedding Cake

As you know, Duane does a lot of cakes. If there is an event in our family, you can bet Duane is up to his elbows in icing. However, until this weekend, Duane had never made a wedding cake.

The oldest daughter of Duane's cousin tied the knot yesterday and she and the groom wanted Duane to make the cake. Duane enlisted the help of his mom, who has made her share of wedding cakes through the years, and the two of them spent Friday creating a delicious cake for the occasion.
