Sunday was our first full day at the beach and we made sure to make the most of it. We bought the boys each a boogie board when we first arrived and they couldn't wait to break them in.

They pretty much stayed in the waves all morning long, with just a quick break to play in the sand. Of course, some of the waves that Duane and I didn't think were too big seemed really large and powerful to Ryan. He watched one swell and gain momentum. Right before it reached him he announced, "This one's really going to knock my penis back." What? Luckily, everything stayed attached and in the proper place, no matter how strong the wave.
Ryan had a few more gems at lunch time. For example, he told Grandma that "It took a really long time to get here, but it was worth it!" And while we munched on sandwiches on the balcony he told me, "Watching the waves just makes me want to get out there in the ocean. Wouldn't it be great to live here? Then we could have fun on the beach whenever we want!"
We spent the afternoon at the pool and in the lazy river.
Wesley refused to get out of the water and rest, which means that after a while he started to feel sick. I'm not sure if it was the excitement, the heat, or what, but he wound up throwing up into a trash can near the pool. Then we had to fess up to a nearby staff person that our kid just got sick so they could empty the trash and not have it bake in the heat. The joys of vacationing with kids.
That little episode had us call it an afternoon. We headed back up to the condo and Wesley immediately crashed in his bed. After a good hour and a half nap he felt much better. Ryan was obsessed with all the mini-golf places we had seen on our drive in, so we decided to hit the dino golf course.

| Ryan fell victim to the water trap, but at least the course provided a net to retrieve the balls |
 |
| Wesley had to do a little fishing too |

| Happy boys! |
We went back to the condo for dinner, then walked across the street for some ice cream and then headed to a nearby shopping area. There was a store there that sold nothing but rocks and Ryan had money just burning a hole in his pocket! The orange rock necklace below was his favorite purchase, but he spent nearly half the money he brought with him in that store!

Wesley found an airbrush stand that had Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle hats, so he decided to have one made.

We left shortly after that - it was nearly 10:00 after all and the kids had had a very full day. On the short drive back to the condo Ryan announced that he wasn't "sleep tired, but my arms and my legs are tired," before he promptly fell asleep. That's the sign of a good first full day of vacation.
