I decided to take the boys to the zoo this morning so we wouldn't be hanging around the house all day, waiting for the big fireworks show tonight. I can't believe we hadn't been to the zoo this spring/summer yet, so this was the perfect excuse. I normally like to go to the zoo with friends, but today it was just me and my boys and you know what? It was kind of nice to move at our own pace and not have to worry about what anyone else was doing.
Zoo highlights included:

| ...seeing the REAL polar bears dive into the water and start swimming. That was super cool! |

| ...playing on the playground (well it was a highlight for Ryan) |

| ... being attacked by ducks at lunch. Seriously. There was gang of about 6 ducks hanging out under our table (after we sat down) demanding that we feed them. When we didn't, they nipped at poor Wesley's toes. |

| Ryan started off spreading the peanut butter on crackers, but figured it would be faster if he just spread it directly on his tongue. Thank goodness we had juice boxes to wash that down. |

| The ducks were aggressive enough that the boys finished their lunch on TOP of the picnic table. |
The guys wore themselves out pretty well. Ryan is napping and Wesley caught a cat nap, so they'll be ready for the big light show tonight!
