This morning as I was attempting to get my kids out the door and into the car, I announced that I was leaving in 2 minutes - with or without them. For a split second, Wesley's face lit up and he cried, "Home alone!" but when I went into the garage and called out "90 seconds left," they scurried to join me.
As we were driving to school Wesley said, "If you would have left without us, Mom, I would have run down the street, chasing the car and yelling your name. But I don't think you really would have left without us."
"Oh, she totally would have left without us!" Ryan assured him.
Which makes me wonder exactly how far I could push it next time - dare I (gasp) circle the block? Only time will tell.
